Problem
Lifestyle clips of 20–50 seconds have to be cut down to 15–30 seconds in one to three formats, with the product name, logo and claim. Editing one clip by hand took two to five hours.
What I built
A panel in After Effects: it cuts the video into scenes, Twelve Labs rates the shots, the panel proposes a selection for the time limit and the video's goal (sales, brand, social), the designer adjusts the cuts, switches branding on with one toggle, and ffmpeg renders the formats in the background. At every stage a human can take full control and the panel keeps working correctly.
Result
5–10 minutes instead of 2–5 hours per clip. Over 20 videos have gone through the panel, each with a result ready to publish. The editor decides instead of clicking.
How it works
A preset per format decides the length, proportions and branding. The designer sees how many seconds are left and can change the pace of the whole or of selected scenes.
